I've had a really hard time finding in-network specialists in Texas who actually accept the Blue Advantage HMO network in 2026. With the 2027 Open Enrollment coming up soon, I’m thinking of switching. Is it worth paying the higher premium for the Blue Choice PPO? Does the PPO actually have a noticeably larger provider network?

Terrible Provider Services with EXXXXTREMELY LONG HOLD TIMES OR NOT EVEN GETTING SOMEONE. TERRIBLE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS OR PROVIDER OFFICES.

NO doubt BCBS TX is the absolute worst provider service department i had to deal with, I'm saying this proudly after 7 years in Billing and RCM , i have never met a worse customer service, they are soo rude, they can barely speak English, each time i call i have to wait at least 30 mins to reach an agent and just disconnect the call whenever they feel like it, i spent more than an 2 hours over the phone with some rep and he just hung up and i had to call again and waste more time. they do that stuff because simply they can and no one is holding them accountable and no Propper escalation or complain process no quality its a disaster and even when they make a mistake processing the claim they will not acknowledged it and literally will say anything . They gave me hell one time because i asked for a supervisor, our practice provides service all over the states I'm advising all of our BSBC TX patients not to renew and to switch to any other insurance, agents are not trained well one simple question can take up to 1 hour, its ridiculous.

For CPAP supplies after the first year, what are the compliance rules? I satisfied the initial 4 hours per day for 21 out of 30 days, as well as the follow up doctor visit. How do I continue coverage after this first year? Do I have to continue to allow the DME company access to the CPAP machine once I've paid it off?

How does a dependent sign up for a BAM account?

I am a dependent, and my spouse is the subscriber.

The sign up procedure from BAM (Blue Access for Members) asks for my details, including member ID. I, the dependent, do not have my own member, but when I give my spouse's, I am told that my personal information doesn't match what is on record for that ID. That seems like a reasonable thing for the system to tell me, but it doesn't help me create my own BAM account.
