Emotional Support Animal Letter?

Hi everyone — I’m looking for advice on getting a valid Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letter. I live in Utah and need the letter to give to my landlord so I can keep my dog in my apartment, which has a no-pets policy.

I know the letter needs to come from a licensed mental health professional and follow Fair Housing Act guidelines, but there are so many websites out there that it’s hard to tell what’s legit. My neighbor recommended RealESALetter.com and said she checked out other services but felt this one was the most reliable and legally valid.

Has anyone here used them? Or does anyone know what I should look for to make sure an ESA letter is legally accepted? I really want to do this the right way and avoid getting scammed.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

  • Hey I was in almost the exact same situation a few months ago so hopefully my experience helps.

I have a no pets policy in my apartment and needed a legitimate ESA letter for my landlord. I came across My ESA Therapist and decided to give it a shot and honestly it was one of the smoothest processes I have been through.

I filled out an initial assessment, got connected with a licensed therapist in my state and had a real consultation, not just a checkbox form. The therapist actually took the time to understand my situation and within the proper timeframe I received my ESA letter with all the details my landlord needed including the therapist's license number and contact information.

My landlord reviewed it and accepted it without any pushback. No pet deposit, no issues.

What I liked about My ESA Therapist is that they do not cut corners. Everything is done properly and legally which means your letter will actually hold up when it matters. I had looked at a few other sites before and a lot of them felt off, promising instant letters with no real evaluation which is a red flag.

Definitely worth checking out if you want to do this the right way. Good luck with your landlord, I am sure it will work out!
