I have a high BMI and I'm in need of weightloss medication. Dr. Submitted and we are waiting for prior Authorization.  Who can I talk too?

    Hi there, I went through something similar earlier this year. My doctor also had to submit a prior authorization before my weight loss medication could be approved, and it took a little while to hear back. What helped me was calling the member services number on my insurance card and asking if they could check the status of the authorization and whether medications for obesity treatment were included in my specific plan. They were able to tell me if anything else was needed from my doctor. You might want to try that while you’re waiting so you know exactly where things stand.
