Hey everyone ,
I don’t think people who don’t experience PTSD really understand how exhausting it can be.
It’s not just memories-it’s the way your body reacts like something is happening right now, even when you’re safe. Loud noises, certain places, or even random triggers can completely shift your mood in seconds.
One thing I’ve noticed is how much comfort my pet brings me during those moments. Just having them nearby helps ground me when things feel overwhelming.
I also started reading about emotional support animals and came across My ESA Therapist, where the process involves a real mental health evaluation instead of instant approvals.
It made me think more seriously about structured support options.
Has anyone else found something that helps ground them during PTSD episodes?
