I still pay a large copay for my birth control each month. Shouldn't I be receiving free contraceptives with BCBS of TX through the Affordable Care Act? Very expensive even for generic. Please explain.

Hello. Coverage for contraceptives can vary depending on the type of plan you are enrolled in. However, if you are enrolled in a non-grandfathered plan that is compliant with the Affordable Care Act then the link below will show you the birth control methods/brands covered at 100% of the allowance when provided by an in network provider. If you are using a contraceptive not listed, then copayments, coinsurance or deductible may apply. - Renee
