I am a transgender male and will be having gender change surgery. Is that surgery covered by bcbstx and what prequalifications will I need for that surgery.

Hi Cassie,
Thank you for responding back as this is very inportant to me. I currently work for in Pittsburgh in which I now have BCBS of NC . BCBS of NC does cover the surgery but I won't be having it until the end of April at which time I will be on BCBS of TX. I will be working in Dallas after April. That is why I am concerned and do not want to loose that coverage. Please let me know what will be covered and what requirements need to be met to be prequalified for surgery. Thank you so much for the information.
