Beat portion distortion

It’s a common mistake to think overflowing Thanksgiving plates are a norm, but we don’t normally eat like this the rest of the year, so why do we think it’s ok to do it in November? The truth is—your body doesn’t need that much food! In fact, your body needs only a portion of it.

The ideal plate, according to the American Diabetes Association, should be 50% non-starchy vegetables, 25% protein, 25% grains.
