Do I need to have a referral from my PCP to see a dermatologist?

My daughter needs to see a dermatologist; I was wondering if we have to see her PCP first to get a referral, or we can make an appointment with an in-network dermatologist directly.

  • It's great that you're looking into the right steps for your daughter's care. Typically, some insurance plans require a referral from the PCP before seeing a specialist, but others allow direct appointments with an in-network dermatologist. It’s best to check your insurance policy or contact their customer service to be sure. By the way, when taking breaks, my kids love playing Fnaf – it’s a fun way to unwind!
