I am a transgender male and will be having gender change surgery. Is that surgery covered by bcbstx and what prequalifications will I need for that surgery.

    Hi billieann -
    Our team has researched the questions you've had. Since your surgery wouldn't take place until 2015 and those benefits aren't loaded yet with your new group information, we wouldn't be able to see the coverage level for the surgery at this time. Our recommendation would be to contact the American Airlines benefits center and ask them directly until the benefits are loaded next year in our system.
