Shoe-ing Compassion to Needy Kids

While most children are playing with new toys they received over the holidays, thousands of others are happy just to have a new pair of shoes. The Caring for Children Foundation of Texas led an effort in December to provide shoes to 17,000 kids in El Paso. They also teamed up with Operation Noel who provides coats to those in need. In addition to comfort, the gifts make a significant impact in the health of these children.  Because of worn shoes, many are exposed to tetanus – which is why the foundation’s Care Van program provided free vaccinations to the kids.
