CHRISTY: Well tonight is our Relay for Life event here at Hardin-Simmons University, and we're celebrating those that have survived cancer those that are still fighting cancer and everybody that cancer has affected in some way.

JORDAN: I'm actually here to support not only the people who are affected, but the family members who have been affected by the well. It really is something that's truly important. It's great because it's not only me here it's my two kids get to be here as well it's a great experience.

AMY: The Relay for Life of Abilene has been around for about 22 years I believe and we're just going to take a moment to remember survivors to honor them as they take their survivor lap, their victory lap to remember those that we've lost with their Luminaria ceremony later and to pledge to fight back.

CHRISTY: The Luminaria ceremony what that is when it gets dark time they will line the track with these bags that have been decorated in honor of maybe a loved one whether they are here tonight with us or maybe somebody who has past and they turn out all the lights and they will light these bags and it's an exceptional thing to see when you see those bags and know that these are people's loved ones that are being celebrated.

JORDAN: Events like this when Blue Cross and Blue Shield helps not only with finances, but donating and just taking the time the extra time to be honest that's a great feeling to know that I was part of this.
