What Preventive Services Are Covered Under My Plan?

Eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep and staying away from things that can harm your health, such as tobacco, are all ways we can stay healthy and prevent certain health problems. But, there is one other part of preventive care that should not be overlooked – getting routine health screenings and exams.

Going in to see your doctor for a health exam is one of the best ways to take care of your health. Even if you are not having any health problems, you should have a yearly exam by your doctor. Your doctor will give you an exam, do screenings for things like blood pressure and cholesterol levels and talk with you about your health concerns. Your doctor can also make sure you are getting the shots you need to prevent illness.

Preventive care often leads to finding health problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better. All of our new health insurance plans cover certain preventive health care services with no out-of-pocket costs – that means you are not charged a copayment or coinsurance even if you haven’t met your deductible.*
